PlayerTakes (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates playertakes.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

  • Account information — your email address when you sign up. We do not collect your name or phone number.
  • Content you post — takes, replies, and votes you submit are stored and displayed publicly.
  • Usage data — page views and general traffic patterns collected via Vercel Analytics. This is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
  • Technical data — IP address, used only for rate limiting to prevent spam. Not stored long-term.

How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account
  • To display your posts and activity on the platform
  • To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets, notifications you opt into)
  • To prevent spam and abuse
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Third-Party Services

  • Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication. Your email and posts are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
  • Brevo — sends transactional emails on our behalf. Your email address is passed to Brevo only when sending you a message.
  • Vercel — hosts the site and provides privacy-friendly analytics. No personally identifiable data is collected in analytics.
  • Google AdSense — we may display ads in the future. AdSense uses cookies to serve relevant ads. You can opt out via Google’s Ad Settings.

Cookies

We use cookies for authentication (to keep you logged in) and site analytics. If we display ads in the future, advertising cookies may be set by Google AdSense. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Data Retention

We retain your account and posts for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your personal information is removed. Posts may remain in anonymized form to preserve feed integrity.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to object to processing.

Children’s Privacy

PlayerTakes is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
